As the weekend takes over, Lakme Fashion Week gets all the more sultry and glamorous. With Bollywood beauties Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari and Shruti Hassan grabbing eyeballs at the ramp, the third day saw some distinctive and out of the ordinary collection by designers like Jayanti Reddy, Nishka Lulla and Payal Singhal.
Verandah by Anjali
Verandah Prive presented a journey through the several shades of Matisse. Inspired by the work of this Fauvist French master printmaker, draughtsman and painter, the late Henri Matisse (1869-1954), Verandah Prive’s collection highlights elements from one of his more obscure paintings “Interior with Eggplants”.

African art by IIuanga Kamuanga was the inspiration of Urvashi Kaur’s ‘Tattva’ collection that plunged into a vibrant world of red, blue, white and ivory with touches of grey and black for graphic block prints with hand drawn geometric elements.

Payal Singhal
Designer Payal Singhal unveiled her summer resort 2016 collection with Monica Dogra dressed in an ecru silk minakari brocade lehnga and choli and Shibani Dandekar wore a pomegranate silk hibiscus embroidered lehenga choli. The collection was inspired by the enigmatic elegance of iconic Indian Royal women.

Designer Amit Aggarwal unveiled his couture title ‘Magma’. His collection stated absorbing forms, enveloped within the earth’s surface, gathering light within itself. It was a visual, mind-bending adventure where molten liquids and colors came out together and cooled down to form a new earth’s surface.
