Johannesburg:  Former American boxer Floyd Mayweather, who retired from his illustrious career last September, has hinted to make a return to the ring with a probable nine-figure payday.

Mayweather had bid adieu to boxing after equaling former world heavyweight champion Rocky Marciano`s record of 49 straight wins by hammering challenger Andre Berto in Las Vegas.

The 39-year-old, who promoted Badou Jack’s majority draw with Lucian Bute in Washington D.C. on Saturday, admitted he is happy with his retirement, but refused to rule out his probable return to the boxing ring.

He pointed out that a championship fight and a nine-figure payday could lure him out of retirement, Sport24 reported.

The unbeaten US boxing champion also confirmed that he has been in talks with CBS and Showtime, whom he worked with for the final six bouts of his career.
