Mumbai : Pranjal Shinde, a 15-year-old from Swami Vivekanand displayed stupendous form while helping her school to a fine 3-1 win over Andheri’s St Blaise school to claim the under-17 honours in the DSO- Mumbai Suburban District Inter-School Table Tennis Tournament, organized by Vision Sports Reconnect and Fairplay Sports Management at Goregaon Sports Club here on Wednesday.
The girls under-19 ties were postponed to Monday as some of the players are busy participating in the All India (Central Zone) National championship at Indore. Though Pranjal did drop a game both against Krishna Chavan and Synora D’Costa, she made amends by winning both the ties with relative ease.
The Mulund’s Nalanda Public school sprang surprise by upsetting fancied Utpal Sanghvi 3-1 to bag the under-14 honours. Their captain Meghana Karandikar played a star role.
