Mumbai : Sporting Options worked hard to snatch a close 3-2 win against a spirited Athens XI in a Second Division match of the MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association) League 2015-2016, and played at the St. Xavier’s ground, Parel on Saturday evening.
Paritosh Gohil struck a brace of goals while Omkar Matkar added one for Sporting Options, while Athens scored through Amit C. and Aakash Pathak. In the second match of the day, Lakers FC scored twice in the second period to register a fluent 2-0 win against Falcon Brothers, Mulund. Divesh Shetty scored the opening goal and Saurav Varun got the second to seal the win.
