The personal Twitter account of Pakistan foreign ministry spokesperson Mohammad Faisal has been suspended. According to the India Today report, the account was suspended after Indian authorities’ complaint. Faisal’s account was suspended for keeping his social media followers updated regarding Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmir and ICJ hearing on Kulbhushan Jadhav case.

However, the Pakistan foreign ministry’s official account (@ForeignOfficePk), which bears Mohammad Faisal’s name, remains active. Faisal in the most recent tweets on his personal page wrote that Members of the European Parliament called for an end to “gross human rights violations” in Jammu and Kashmir, and said the EU “should not do trade with countries that violate Human rights”.

In the meanwhile, Faisal has not yet used his account to comment on the suspension. The development comes in the wake of rising tensions between India and Pakistan after the Pulwama attack. India has blamed Pakistan for harbouring terrorists of the Jaish-e-Mohammad, which carried out the attack.
