It seems like one Pakistani news channel failed to understand PM Narendra Modi’s speech after winning Lok Sabha Elections 2019. While decoding the speech of Prime Minister Modi, a Pakistani news channel misinterpret his word ‘Abhinandan’ for IAF Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman.

While addressing the newly-elected MPs BJP-led NDA at the Parliament Central Hall on Saturday, PM Modi said the word to greet the BJP party workers for their efforts and victory in the Lok Sabha Elections 2019. By saying Abhinandan, PM meant praise for his party workers, however, the channel misunderstood the word for Wing Commander.

A video is doing the rounds on social media in which the news anchor is mentioning that PM Modi highlighted IAF commander Abhinandan during his speech. Have a look at the video below.

The IAF commander was detained by Pakistani officials on February 27, 2019 when he landed on the Pak’s side of LOC after shooting down a Pakistani F-16 plane during an air combat between both nations. He was later released by Pakistan at Wagah-Attari border.

Twitterati mercilessly trolled Pak media for misunderstanding the word. Some people also took a dig at the channel by asking about Manavi, Asha and Aakanksha- some other words used by PM Modi during the speech. Have a look at some of the tweets taking jibe at the news channel.
