Rome : Italian striker Mario Balotelli revealed that he signed for French side Nice during the summer transfer window due to the climate of the city and its location, which were his primary reasons for choosing to join this Ligue 1 side.

In an interview with Sky Sports on Tuesday, Balotelli said: “At the start, I chose Nice for the climate; I wanted to be in a relaxing but beautiful place, where it’s difficult to get out the wrong side of the bed.”

“The other reason I chose Nice is because there’s a decent group of young players. We’re all about the same age,” he said.

On his previous clubs, Liverpool and AC Milan, the Italian said: “I didn’t make mistakes in terms of my game or my behavior, but I did get injured and that’s not something I can control.”

When asked about Liverpool’s current coach, German Jurgen Klopp, he said: “Klopp doesn’t know me. I was with him at Liverpool for one and a half months and I spoke with him just once. He told me that I could stay, but that I wasn’t first choice.”

“He said he felt it was better if I went to play somewhere else to play well and then go back because he wanted me as a player. I said arrivederci and told him he would never see me again,” he added.
