Mumbai: Man abducted, thrashed and robbed by goons

Thane: A 33-year-old man was allegedly abducted and thrashed by four persons, who also robbed him of thousands of rupees, police said on Sunday.

Jigar Makwana, a private detective residing in Kashimira area, was abducted from his house on June 1 by a group of four persons over a dispute, Police Inspector (PI) Anil Kadam of Kashimira police station said.

The accused took him to Jogeshwari area, where they thrashed him and robbed him of Rs 30,000, following which they released him, the PI said. The four miscreants were identified as Pankaj Wagh, RohitShetty, Govind and Rahul, he said.

A case has been registered under relevant sections of IPC, he said, adding further investigation is on.
