Mumbai :Industries Minister Subhash Desai has ordered a probe into the illegal land purchase at Ranjangaon MIDC by RohitKamlakar, son of senior IPS and EOW head Dhananjay Kamlakar, terming the entire deal fraudulent.
“The Maharashtra Industries Development Corporation (MIDC) has been cheated and its land at Ranjangaon MIDC was fraudulently grabbed by Rohit Kamlakar, son of senior IPS officer and Joint Commissioner of Police, Economic Offences Wing (EOW),” Desai said here on Thursday. I’ve ordered a probe into the fraudulent purchase and assured strict action against the guilty, he added.
The Minister argued that the 7.64 hectare land belongs to the MIDC after its original owners Shivajirao Navale and Arun Navale sold the land on October 20, 1992. Desai further disclosed that the Navales even were paid a compensation of Rs 1.81 lakh. Since 1992 the said land is in possession of the MIDC. Later, some people asked the MIDC for No Objection Certificate allowing the purchase of the land. However, the MIDC did not allow it and filed FIR and lodged a case with the court in Pune. He further added that a Common Effluent Treatment Plant is constructed on the land and is in operation.
Desai disclosed that four people Bhujang Ogle, Rohit Kamlakar, Rangnath Walke and Prashant Ogle tried to purchase the plot of land. Following this, the MIDC informed the Revenue department, lodged an FIR, a lodged a case in the Bombay High Court. A Pune City Civil Court had already in September 2015 set aside the sale and purchase of the land.
