‘Laziest side!’ : Struggling English Premier League giants Manchester United are the laziest side in English football’s top division, according to a study.
The report studied the league table of the distance covered by every Premier League side.
United’s squad have covered only 55 kilometres in their last five games, far less than rivals Liverpool, according to the study, which was reported by The Daily Mail on Monday.
Liverpool have run the farthest in the league, a remarkable 11 km more than the second-placed Manchester City and third positioned Tottenham. Premier League newcomers Burnley are next, just ahead of West Bromwich Albion.
‘React to it!’
Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata has called on his side to stop mourning their recent slump and start focusing on proving their worth in the upcoming fixtures, following their third successive defeat.
The Jose Mourinho-led side crashed to a surprise 1-3 loss at Watford in their Premier League clash on Sunday, having already been beaten at home by local rivals Manchester City the previous weekend and slipping to a Europa League defeat against Feyenoord.
“A win doesn’t last too long, and it happens the same way with a defeat. You have the chance to make it up soon afterwards. Two more games this week will give us the opportunity to show on the pitch our pride and skills. There’s no time for mourning. We must react,” the 28-year-old was quoted as saying.
