Indore: MBBS final professional exams, which were scheduled to commence on October 21, has been extended by Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV), on Thursday due to Sri Aurobindo Institute of Medical Sciences (SAIMS).

“SAIMS students had informed us that their pre-university exams have not been conducted as yet and they have requested for extending the exams. On enquiry, their claim was found true. So, we have extended MBBS final prof exams,” said exam controller Ashesh Tiwari.

He said that the exams were extended after consulting deans of medical colleges. Now, the exams would be conducted from November 9 and 24.

The DAVV had announced to hold MBBS final prof exams from October 21. But SAIMS students had lately visited the DAVV and requested the exam controller to extend the exams as their pre-university exams are still to be conducted.  The pre-university exams at SAIMS began on Thursday. When the exam controller enquired about it, he was told by the SAIMS authorities that the pre-university exams started late due to delayed admission process.

“We have suggested SAIMS to conduct pre-university exams in time so that in future the DAVV’s exams do not get delayed because of it,” Tiwari said.

He said that deans of MGM Medical College and Index College had no objection on extending exams of MBBS final prof.
