When we face a problem, we think of the obstacles, road blocks and barriers. Once we focus on the alternatives of a solution, we travel forward and reach a destination, may be not, where we aimed, but very near it. A high-rise building was nearing completion but when they wanted to fix the lifts, they discovered that the space was too big to accommodate the shafts. An ordinary labourer remarked. “Why not put the lift outside the building?” and it worked and now external lifts are seen on buildings all around the world.

Every human brain has the capability of creating solutions to problems. Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are too powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness that frightens us.

When we allow our own light to shine, we unconsciously give permission to other people to do the same. When things go wrong as they sometimes will; when the road you are travelling seems all uphill; when the funds are low and debts are high and you want to smile but you have to sigh; when care and anxiety are pressing you down, rest if you must, but don’t you quit. Beyond the bend, you will find the beautiful scenery, which you never imagined.

We had a coach in college who called the students champs. When asked why, he said that he wanted them all to go through life thinking of themselves as champions. To create a bright future, you must be a champion, a master or a miracle-maker. A study done in Massachusetts into causes of heart disease asked participants two questions ‘Are you happy?’ and ‘Do you love your work?’ Those who answered yes to both were less likely to get a heart disease. In fact, many of our ailments are self-made because worry and anxiety affect our biological conditions and after sometimes even medicines don’t cure them.

Our core values and passion for what we are doing are the strongest motivators. If our values are at odds with our goals, success will elude us. If we suffer from lack of self-worth, we are not likely to perform well in life. We have all seen magic either on the stage or television. Scripture Say: “We do not see things as they are. We see them as we are.” Our whole life revolves around the myth that something wonderful will happen. Well, if it does not happen, we should make it happen.
