However, a police official said that Mahajan was not in the city when the incident took place outside her house in Manishpuri Colony.Meanwhile, Vikas Awasthi, chief Swarna Sena, said they only wanted to meet the Speaker to submit a memorandum. “But police tried to stop us by putting up barricades on the road and also thrashed the activists in which two of them were injured,” he alleged.
The protestors also played jhanj and manjira outside Mahajan’s house while protesting.Representative of Mahajan, Rajesh Agrawal, had a scuffle with protestors after which Indore Municipal Corporation chairman Ajay Singh Naruka intervened and pacified the protesters. Naruka received the memorandum in which Swarna Sena demanded removal of ‘discrepancies’ in the reservation system, and scrapping of the recent amendment to the SC/ST Act that restored provisions regarding immediate arrest after the Supreme Court had inserted certain safeguards.
