City girl Suhaani Lohia wins bronze

Mumbai : Suhaani Lohia added another feather to her cap by winning the prestigious bronze medal in the girls category of the Ultimate U-7 National Age group chess championships that concluded on Tuesday in Pondicherry, tamilnadu.

Earlier this month this 1st standard student of Dhirubhai ambani school  scripted history by being the first girl from Mumbai to become the woman candidate master(WCM). Riding on her good form suhaani with a stunning display of her talent and power dominated a massive filed of 119 odd players  who have across from different states of India.However she faced tough opposition from players of Karnataka and west Bengal at the concluding stage and finished behind them with an  impressive score of 8.5 points to secure eluding bronze medal for Maharashtra. while shefali AN & sneha halder secured gold and silver with a final tally 10 & 9 points out of 11 gruelling rounds.
