Bhopal: Political activities have gained momentum in the state with the appointment of Kamal Nath as Congress state president. Nath, while interacting with the media on Thursday, claimed that several BJP leaders were in touch with him.
Stating that he has been preparing the ground for past one year, Nath said that he got a survey done, which reported that Congress would get 150 seats in the assembly elections. Congress state president claimed that his party is sure to win 70 seats easily, whereas 90 seats would be won by doing little hard work.
Nath said congress is targeting 40 seats where Congress could not perform well for long time. It is not yet sure whether the party would enter into alliance with Gondwana and Bahujan Samaj Party, said Nath. The decision on giving ticket to leaders of other party will be taken after discussion with the party leaders, he added. Nath left for Delhi in the afternoon after his three-day visit.
Shivraj writes about power of common man
Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan too tweeted on Thursday targeting Kamal Nath. Chouhan tweeted that some leaders only come out of their ‘Tughlaqi Palaces’ during elections. Such leaders feel that common man would not understand their moves but I have heard a film dialogue which says ‘never underestimate the power of common man. Shivraj said people know very well as to who stood with them in their times of need and who will keep standing with them in future too.
