Armaan to meet Vishnu in the semis

Mumbai : Wild card entrant Armaan Bhatia will meet the top seed Vishnu Vardhan in the semi- final of the Khar Gymkhana-ATT (Asian Tennis Tour) tennis tournament conducted and hosted by Khar Gymkhana (KG) under the auspices of MSLTA and AITA. The local boy Armaan, who trains at the KG courts was in a comfortable position in the quarter-final, leading 6-4, 2-0 in the second set when his opponent, the fourth seeded Jayesh Pungliya retired because of an injury. In the other quarter-final, Vishnu Vardhan was stretched as he overcame a determined Suraj Prabodh 6-3, 6-7 (7-2), 6-4 in a close match to enter the last four stage.

The other wild card entrant, Rohan Gajjar also booked a semi-final berth as Anvit Bendre, who was trailing 1-6 after the first set got injured which forced him to retire. In the fourth quarter-final, the second seeded Mohit Mayur Jayaprakash was leading 6-3, 2-2 against Shahbaaz Khan when rain stopped play at Khar Gymkhana.

Armaan Bhatia bt. Rajesh Pungliya 6-4, 2-0 (retired); Vishnu Vardhan bt. Suraj Prabodh 6-3, 6-7 (7-2), 6-4; Rohan Gajjar bt. Anvit Bendre 6-1 (retired); Mohit Mayur Jayaprakash vs. Shahbaaz Khan 6-3, 2-2 match stopped due to rain.
