Mumbai : Unseeded Aanjali Siripuram of LIC knocked out Top seeded Maitreyee Gogate in a straight games encounter 25-16, 25-13 to enter quarterfinal round of the Women Singles event in 52nd Maharashtra state and inter district Carrom championship.

In another thrilling three game encounter Medha Matkari of Pune knocked out the challenge of RBI’s Urmila Shendge of Mumbai 8-25, 25-6, 25-13 to enter last eight. In another straight games encounter Priti Khedekar of Mumbai defeated Radhika Joshi of Thane 25-20,  25-2 to advance further. Former saarc & state Champion Ayesha Mohd. of Jain Irrigation blanked former national & 9 Times State Champion Bank of India’s Anupama Kedar 25-1, 25-5 in straight games. Former national & State Champion Sangeeta Chandorkar of RBI had an easy time against Shaila Jadhav of LIC 25-6, 25-5 winning in straight games. ICF cup & national champion Kajal Kumari of Indian Oil downed Asavari Jadhav of Palghar district 25-10, 25-12 in straight games.

In the Men singles sixth round Mohd. Sajid of Jain Irrigation scored a white slam while overcoming Sanjay Mohite of Mumbai in a straight games encounter 25-5, 25-12 to enter Pre-Quarter Final. ICF Cup & state champion Riyaz Akbar Ali of Mumbai  defeated Nisar Ahmed of Dhule 25-17, 25-13 in straight games to advance further. World No. 2 Mohd. Ghufran of Indian Oil dropped opening game to prevail over Ravi Waghmare of Reserve Bank 13-25, 25-0, 25-7 in a three game encounter. Former Saarc & state champion Prakash Gaikwad of LIC of India had tough time against Dinesh Kedar of Mumbai 18-25, 25-5, 25-14 in a three game encounter. Former world & national champion Yogesh Pardesi of Indian Oil thumped Abhishek Bharti of Mumbai 25-13, 25-16 in straight games. Former National & State Champion Sanjay Mande of Mumbai overcame Satyanarayan Dontul who earlier defeated Top seeded Pankaj Pawar 25-6, 25-15 in straight games.  So for in this championship 46 break to finishes & 28 black to finishes have been recorded.
