Mumbai : Abdul Sattar of Thane District shocked former National & State Champion Prakash Kamble of Mumbai in a thrilling three game encounter 10-25, 25-0, 25-11 to enter Second round of the Veteran Men Singles event in the Bank Of Maharashtra, Indian Oil & LIC of India Sponsored Dharmarajya Paksha organized 52nd Maharashtra inter district Carrom championship 2016. This tournament is organised under the auspices of Thane District Carrom Association & Maharashtra Carrom Association and being held at CKP Hall (A/C), Kharkar Ali, Thane (West).
This Championship being held under the guidance of Rajan Raje President of Dharmarajya Paksh. In a pulsating first round match Kishor Wagle of mumbai dropped opening game while overcoming the challenge of Sarfaraz Khan of Mumbai 9-25, 25-18, 25-18 in a thrilling three game encounter to advance further. In another first round match Suresh Dhumbre of Thame knocked out Manoj Baikar of Mumbai 8-25, 25-17, 25-16 in a three game encounter to advance in to second round. In another First round match Ravindra Modak of Thane prevailed over Deepak Bharati of Palghar in a thrilling three game encounter 25-3, 17-25, 25-14.
In the Inter District Men Team Championship first round league Thane blanked Dhule by 3-0 margin. In another match Jalgaon beat Kolhapur easy time prevailing over 3-0. Palghar dropped a match before prevailing over Raigad by 2-1 margin.
In the Inter-District Women team championship Mumbai blanked Mumbai-Sub. by 3-0 Margin. Thane blanked Ratnagiri 3-0 margin In another match Palghar overcame pune 3-0 margin.
