Munich: About 8,000 residents were evacuated on Wednesday in Munich for the defusing of a World War II bomb. One 250-kg bomb was found on Tuesday on a construction site in the district of Schwabing in Munich, and authorities decided to defuse it on Wednesday, Xinhua reported.

Therefore, about 8,000 residents within a radius of 500 meters had been evacuated before the bomb was defused successfully in the afternoon, according to the Munich police and fire brigade. Due to the removal, public traffic including buses and trams were affected. Munich, the capital city of Bavaria in Germany, was targeted and severely damaged in the Second World War.
