Kihim beach is a famous tourist destination near Alibaug, and offers a complete break from urban pressures. The waters at Kihim are as inviting but those venturing to swim have to take caution of the rocks strewn across the ocean stretch. The most breath-taking sight here is of the sunset with the Kanderi and Underi forts looming in the horizon. Popular for its betel nut ‘Shrivardhan Rotha’, this beautiful town was once the home Peshwas. The plantation of betel nut at almost every courtyard called ‘wadi’ gives it a wonderful green canopy across the coast. Shrivardhan itself is a Taluka in the Raigad district.

This one’s another beach embellishment in Maharashtra, where a lot of chickoo plantations are grown. The picturesque Sahyadri mountain range dominates the landscape here. Dahanu is a small town characterized by the presence of the Warli tribe and the Parsis who have lived here for several generations. The place has been listed as ‘green zone’ for being ecologically fragile. The beach here is absolutely unspoiled which makes this place even more fascinating.
