18 killed due to winds in Myanmar

Nay Pyi Taw: At least 18 people were killed and 24 injured due to wild weather and strong winds in Myanmar’s second largest city of Mandalay, the media reported on Thursday.

All townships in Mandalay except the ruby land of Mogok were affected, Xinhua news agency reported.

The winds damaged 1,417 houses and 61 buildings including schools, the report said.

Relief measures were being taken by Myanmar government.
