Indian Premier League (IPL) season 12 has seen a number of instances when bails refused to come off despite the ball striking the stumps. Once such incident again happened in Rajasthan Royals vs Delhi Capitals match.

The incident occurred the last ball of the 16th over in Delhi Capitals’ chase of 192 against Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur. Jofra Archer’s delivery beat batsman Prithvi Shaw and hit the leg stump bail on the full, but the bails refused to come off as a disappointed Archer could not believe his luck. A distraught Archer slumped down with his hands on his knees and looked around in absolute bewilderment.

It is not the first time this has happened, this has occurred four times in the past and the second instance involving Archer. In an earlier game against Chennai Super Kings, Archer had MS Dhoni ‘bowled’ when a defensive shot rolled back to hit the stump, but the bail didn’t move.
