Indore : A special court on Thursday sentenced a youth to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment in connection with a case of rape and kidnap of a minor girl which took place in 2007.
Special judge RP Sharma handed down the sentence to Rajesh alias Raja, 23, resident of village Bisenkheda.
Public prosecutor Vishal Shrivastav said Rajesh had kidnapped a 17-year-old girl, who was daughter of his employer.
He took the victim to Bhopal, raped her and kept her captive for few days. Later, he allegedly sold her to Anil Prasad and Mamita Rani, who pushed her in flesh trade.
During police investigation, it was found girl was sold several times. Her last purchaser was Madav Lal of Sagar, who married the victim.
Shirvastav said Madav was absolved of all charges and let free by the court as he married to the victim.
However, Anil Prasad and Mamita Rani, who had sold girl to Madav are still at large.
