You should know how to repair VVPAT, EVMs: Collector to sector officers

Indore: District Election Officer Lokesh Kumar Jatav said sector officers should know minor repairs of EVM and VVPAT. They should also know how to change battery, join control units, ballot units and VVPAT, he said. Jatav gave these directions during the training of sector officers held at Holkar Science College on Tuesday wherein 257 officers took part. Jatav said that the role of sector officers in the election is like a supervisor.

The master trainers, sector officers received training of ballot units, control units and VVPAT machines and learned to connect them with each other and their minor repairing work also.       It was also informed during the training that 12,000 employees and 7,500 police personnel in the district will help in conducting the polling at 2,881 polling booths of the district.

The mock poll will be done first on day of polling, thereafter the regular voting will start. Sector officers will also see whether polling party and political agents arrived at the polling stations on time. 50 votes will be cast during the mock poll.
During the voting, the voter will be able to see the slip of confirmation of casting the vote to candidate of their choice for seven seconds on VVPAT machines. Additional collector Kailash Wankhede, deputy collector Anshul Khare and deputy collector Shree Lakha Shrotri and master trainers and sector officers were present.
