Major goof-ups in BA IV Sem paper, students cry foul
Indore: Was Yudhisthira mother Bheem? Or she was Nakul or Sahadev? Shocked! BA fourth semester students were shocked when they were given the abovementioned three choices and asked to answer the question appeared in English Language paper held, on Friday.
Putting the question into exact words — “Who was Yudhisthira mother? A) Bheem. B) Nakul. C) Sahadev, a candidate said that nobody on the earth could have answered this question right from the given three options.
“Candidates left it unanswered and reported the matter to the exam centre superintendent.” It was very first question of the paper. Students thought that it was the only goof-up and proceeded further but a title took them by surprise wherein 15 objective type questions were given and they were asked to answer any of the three. “Never before so many options were given in exams.
General 10 or 12 out of 15 questions are asked to be answered. It was good for us so we took it without complaining. But then came mother of all mistakes in the question paper. A title on the paper asked to answer three questions given below each of two marks but to our surprise there was no question printed on the paper,” the confused students said.
They reported the matter again to superintendents of their respective centres who in turn called up university authorities and inform them about the goof-ups.Complaints in writing were also sent to the university.
With such horrible mistakes found in the paper, the need for moderation process has again been felt.
The university had scraped moderation process some years back as it thought the process is time consuming and not workable in semester system. But now, the exam department officials are thinking of re-introducing it.
