Indore : Following acute water shortage on its campus, Sri Aurobindo Institute of Medical Sciences (SAIMS) has asked students residing in its hostels to vacate and go to their respective homes.
Citing the minutes of a meeting of DME with core committee of the hostel, the college management said that shortage of water prevailing in the campus so student residents of various hostels who are not having their examination and classes at present or in near future may leave the hostel and go to their respective homes.
The instructions are not applicable to the first MBBS/BDS student of 2014-2015 batches.
The college management also stated that all coolers/dessert coolers are not to be allowed to operate anywhere in the campus including guest rooms hotel room and faculty quarters.
“Guests will be accommodated in all the rooms of a flat or row houses together and not in isolated rooms of number of guest houses simultaneously,” the notice issued by the management reads. It also states that Class IV staff are not allowed to take bath or wash their personal clothing in the hostels and guest houses and hospital area.
Manager central-mess is instructed to ensure utmost economy of water during food preparation and large sized utensils may not be used for cooking.
