Indore : The infighting between office bearers of Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) and BJP general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya on Monday came to the fore after he apologised to his supporters for being unable to provide them with tickets for the second ODI between India and South Africa here on October 14, reports PTI.

Vijayvargiya, who is the President of the Cricket Association (Indore division), took to Twitter to say sorry to his supporters.

“Whenever any match took place in Indore, I have watched it along with workers in the stadium. This time MPCA has expressed its inability to provide tickets of the India-South Africa match and I apologise to all the workers for the same,” the former State Minister said in a tweet. “Because of being busy in Bihar assembly elections, I will not be able to come to Indore to watch the match. My family too will watch it in our home on television set. I request all of you also to enjoy it in your homes on TV,” Vijayvargiya said.

Reportedly, Vijayvargiya and MPCA president Jyotiraditya Scindia, don’t see eye-to-eye and their camps always indulge in ugly showdowns during the MPCA polls.

Yesterday, police resorted to mild lathi charge on cricket fans who had come to buy tickets for the second ODI between India and South Africa to be played here, after they went berserk.

Eye-witnesses claim that the fans damaged the railing and entry gate of a bank at Y N Road here, where the tickets were sold. “We dispersed the crowd and brought the situation under control,” an official with Indore police said.

The city is hosting an ODI after a gap of four years. The capacity of Holkar stadium, which is hosting the ODI on October 14, is 27,000.
