Indore :A vegetable vendor was shot at and injured on Saturday while he was returning from Bijasan temple. Apparently the attack was made as he was suspected to be a police informer.
According to Aerodrome Police, the man was identified as Jagdish Chouhan (46), a resident of Dharamraj Colony. Chouhan is a vegetable vendor.
On Saturday morning, he was on his way to Bijasan Temple and as he was about to climb up the hill, two motorcycle borne men stopped him and began arguing with him, alleging him to be a police informer.
Chouhan objected to the treatment whereupon the pillion rider, a heavy man wearing green check shirt, fished out a revolver and shot at him. The bullet stuck Chouhan below knees and he started bleeding.
After shooting him, the men fled towards Dilip Nagar. They had handkerchiefs tied on their faces to avoid identification. Chouhan could not note down the number of the motorcycle due to number plate being smeared by mud.
Following the shooting, Chouhan somehow got back to his home, took his son and went to the hospital. After getting treatment for the wound, he then went to the police station and filed a complaint.
