Indore : The State health department has imposed ‘undeclared’ ban use of IV fluids of Indore-based Beryl Drugs following botched eye surgery in Barwani.
Officials of the department have directed the doctors and staff not to use products of the company till next order. Similarly, the MY Hospital administration has also banned use of the company’s products till next order. According to sources, not only IV fluids but also other drugs used in the Barwani camp were also banned.
“Directions for not using drugs of Beryl Drugs were circulated through WhatsApp and e-mail,” sources said.
They added that more than 18000 units of IV fluid of the company were stored in the CMHO’s drug store while about lakhs of units were stored in various hospitals of the division.
Similarly, the MY Hospital administration also ordered for the fluid but the delivery is pending.
“Now, officials are consulting senior officials in Bhopal over the use of drugs of Beryl Company,” sources added.
Meanwhile, CMHO Dr Shantilal Porwal said that they would release the official orders to use drugs of the company only after the directions from the department.
