Ujjain: Madhya Pradesh Institute of Social Science Research (MPISSR), Dr BR Ambedkar University of Social Sciences (BRAUSS), Mhow and Bhartiya Shikshan Mandal jointly organised a national webinar on New Education Policy (NEP)-2020: Role of Political Science Teachers.
Professor Sanjeev Kumar Sharma, vice-chancellor, Mahatma Gandhi Central University, Motihari (Bihar) was chief Guest on this occasion. In his addressed he said that the NEP-2020 has opened new vistas for teachers and students in terms of understanding the society and polity in the context of Indian roots. We must ignite the minds of the students and teachers to make them understand the nuances of todayís world. This policy has offered tremendous opportunities to the teaching community to understand and unravel the Indian ethos, he said.
The keynote address was delivered by Sanjay Lodha, former professor of political science, Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur. He elaborated the need for new changes and requirement of understanding of the discipline of political science from the perspective of NEP-2020. Prof Ashutosh Kumar from Panjab University, Chandigarh was a guest of honour on this occasion. He stressed the Indianization of political science. He opined that there is a need to enable the student and to develop a perspective among the students of the discipline to bring critical thinking among them.
Prof Shashikant Pandey, Dr BR Ambedkar University, Lucknow and Prof Rekha Saxena, Delhi University were the guest Speakers on this occasion. Prof Asha Shukla, vice-chancellor, BRAUSS, Mhow offered chairpersonís remarks in the end. She very specifically shared the need for such intellectual discourse to engage with the community of teachers to strengthen the discipline in the light of NEP-2020.
At the beginning of the webinar, Prof Yatindra Singh Sisodia delivered the introductory address highlighting the objective and purpose of the webinar and welcomed all the dignitaries. The event was coordinated by Dr Tapas Kumar Dalapati from MPISSR and Dr. Bharat Bhati from BRAUSS, Mhow proposed a vote of thanks.
More than 1,200 participants attended the webinar on Google Meet, Facebook page and YouTube channel of BRAUSS.
