Ujjain: District hospital conducts first successful cancer surgery

The woman is now completely healthy and she is being given further treatment after being admitted to the ICU of the District Hospital.

Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): The first surgery for cancer was done in the district hospital recently. Here a 9 cm tumour of Rambhabai (62) was removed from her neck. The patient was suffering from throat tumour for the last 4-5 years.

Due to this she had difficulty in swallowing food items. Civil surgeon Dr PN Verma and his team at the District Hospital operated on the tumour of the woman. It took about seven to eight hours. The woman is now completely healthy and she is being given further treatment after being admitted to the ICU of the District Hospital.

'Now Rambhabai will be able to lead normal life and will not have any problem in eating or any other,' Dr Verma said on Monday. The surgical team included Dr Yadav, Dr VS Dangi and ENT specialist DrAnshu Arora Verma.
