Ujjain: According to the requirements of the upcoming Simhastha Fair, 2028, objections were lodged here on Saturday.

Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad (ABAP) demanded an increase in the fair area under the proposed Ujjain Master Plan, 2035.

ABAP president Mahant Narendra Giri Maharaj has demanded from Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan that Sanvarakhedi and Jeevankhedi from Indore Road Shanti Palace Square to Unhel Road should also be declared as Simhanstha Fair area. He has demanded to reserve 200 meters of green belt on both sides of the Kshipra and to halt the execution of the proposed Ujjain Master Plan 2035.

ABAP chief Narendra Giri informed that under the New Master Plan, 2035, the officers of the town and county planning department, colonisers and some leaders unanimously included their residential lands from the Shanti Palace intersection on both ends of the Unhel road, which comes under Sanvarakhedi and Jeevankhedi village.

The master plan proposes to convert the land use to residential. An objection was lodged on this on February 6, 2021 by Mahant Rameshwar Giri, the local administrator of the ABAP. Along with this, a letter was also written to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on January 21, 2021 by ABAP general secretary Mahant Hari Giri Maharaj.

Narendra Giri said that it has been learnt that efforts have been started again by the officials of the town and country planning department and some colonisers that Sanvarkhedi, Jeevankhedi area should be residential instead of being included in the Simhanstha Fair area. He has demanded from the Chief Minister that the execution of Master Plan, 2035 should be postponed because in this regard the ABAP functionaries will soon meet him and present their side.
