Two policemen die, 2 hurt in road mishap

Victims were returning after attending a  marriage programme

Dewas/Indore: Two policemen were killed and two others were injured in a road mishap during the intervening nights of Wednesday and Thursday on the Dewas-Bhopal road. All four of them are posted at the district police line of Indore. As per received information, the policemen were on patrol at around 1.30 am on Wednesday night when ASI Balaram Bhatia noticed a vehicle in the middle of the road with its light on.

When he reached on the spot, he noticed that there were some passengers inside the vehicle. Immediately he called the ambulance and informed the police and all four were pulled out of the car. The Bhoransa police station incharge Rammurthi Chhawnia informed that the deceased were identified as Narayan Manjrekar (28) and Rahul (28). The injured are being treated in a private hospital in Indore.

The policemen’s vehicle had collision with a speeding vehicle when they were returning from a colleague’s wedding programme at Sehore, as the rear mirror of the car was smashed. The bodies were handed over to their respective families after post mortem on Thursday.

The deceased had been placed in the service since 2011 at the DRP line Indore. The Bhoransa police have registered the case and started further investigations.
