Indore : A local court on Wednesday awarded 10 years of rigorous imprisonment to two youths for raping a minor girl and keeping her captive for 20 days. The court also slapped a fine of Rs 200 on each of the convicts.
The 13th upper sessions judge Rajesh Kumar Gupta convicted the accused and handed down the sentence after hearing statements of 16 witnesses in the case. A 16-year-old girl of the city was kidnapped from Musakhedi area in March 2013 and was taken to Sagar where two youths took turns to rape her.
“The accused kept the girl in captivity for 20 days. She could be freed only when police reached Sagar and rescued her,” public prosecutor Ravindra Desai said. He said that 19-year-old Govind Patel, a resident of Sagar district had abducted the girl.
