Indore : A newly married woman committed suicide in Raoji Bazaar area on Monday by hanging herself from the ceiling of her house. Although the reason for suicide is not yet clear, the woman’s family has alleged dowry harassment as the cause of suicide.
According to Raoji Bazaar police, the woman was identified as Vandana Joshi (35) a resident of Chota Rawala.
Vandana committed suicide on Monday morning. Her husband Vikas found her hanging. He first informed his family members and then rushed her to MY Hospital where doctors declared her brought dead.
Investigating Officer, ASI Mujlade, said that Vandana had married Vikash in April this year and her parents reside in Aerodrome area. Her husband is employed with Indore Municipal Corporation.
Meanwhile Vandana’s family also reached the hospital and alleged that her in-laws were harassing her which led her to commit suicide. However, her in-laws have denied any harassment. The police have registered a case and are investigating.
Man hangs himself
In the second instance, a man committed suicide on Monday morning by hanging from a tree near Bijasan Tekari while he was out for morning walk. According to Aerodrome police, the man identified as Ashok Rathore (45) was a resident of Nagin Nagar. His son Avdesh said that his father was employed as a driver and never mentioned any problems. No note of any kind was found on his person and therefore the reason for suicide is not yet clear. The police have registered a case and are investigating.
