Tukoganj police arrests thief who targeted hostels

Indore : Tukoganj police on Wednesday arrested a notorious thief who used to break into hostels. Police have recovered four laptops from the accused and is also investigating about the mobile phones which he had stolen.

According to Tukoganj police station in-charge Dilip Singh Choudhary, acting on a tip off, a team arrested Rahul Sharma, resident of Bakery Gali, on Tuesday night.

“Initially, we recovered a laptop from the accused but after interrogation, he accepted that he had three more laptops. The accused admitted that he had stolen the laptops from the hostels located near MIG and Tukoganj areas,” Choudhary said.

He further said that they are investigating about the owners of the laptops and also about the mobile phones which he had stolen.

“The accused informed us that he had sold the stolen phones to a mobile shop owner at Pardeshipura area. We have also raided at the shop but it was closed. We presented the accused before the court and sent him to jail on Wednesday,” the police station in-charge said.
