Indore : Three groups, which faced the Income Tax Department’s action, have surrendered Rs 7 crore. The department has shown its resolve to continue its action against the tax defaulters.

Over 40 officers of the assessment wing of the Income Tax department led by Chief Commissioner VK Mathur conducted survey action against three groups-Jwala Griha Udhyog, Ridhi-Sidhi Perfumes and Dammani Brothers, on Wednesday last. Sources said that Jwala Griha Udyog, operated by Lokesh Narang, surrendered Rs 2.90 crore, Agarbatti-manufacturer Ridhi-Sidhi Perfumes surrendered Rs 1.75 crore and Dammani band oil marketing firm of the Dammani Brothers surrendered Rs 2.25 crore to the Income Tax authorities. I-T officers surveyed two locations of Jwala in Siyaganj and Palda, where their stock found in excess quantity. Ridhi-Sidhi Perfumes’ two offices at Maharani Road were came under the IT scanner, where excess amount of stock also found. The dept said the action against the defaulting firms would continue.
