Thieves take away antiquated idol from Dhar Rd Jain temple

INDORE: Unidentified thieves struck at Jain temple at Dhar road and took away an idol, which was hundreds of years old, and other valuables here on Wednesday. Police have registered a case and are probing the matter. The incident took place at Jayant Dham at Dhar Road late on Tuesday night.

Watchman Dileep Singh Chouhan told police that on Tuesday night he went for sleep at around 2 am after which thieves barged into the temple after breaking locks and took away an idol which was many year old and weighted 3 kg. The theft was discovered on Wednesday morning when watchman woke up. He immediately informed to priest about the incident.

Youth thrashed by miscreants

Rajendra naga police booked four miscreants for badly thrashing a youth on Tuesday night. Victim Rajkumar lodged a complaint stating that he was going towards his house when four miscreants named Mangal, Mangu, Deepak and Shakti stopped him on the way and asked for money. On refusing to give money, the miscreants beat him up and pushed him on fencing and fled the scene. Later some passersby took him a hospital and informed the police. Police have launched a search for accused.

Woman commits suicide

A woman 35-year-old married woman committed suicide by consuming poisonous substance in Aerodrome area. Police said that one Ashabai of Kastur Nagar was rushed to a private hospital after consuming poison on Tuesday where she died during treatment. The reason of her taking extreme step could not be established yet. Police are taking the statements of her family member and are trying to know the reasons of her suicide.

Man ends life by hanging self

An elderly man, residing in Kumharkhedi, committed suicide by hanging self from the ceiling of his house late on Tuesday night. So far the reason for suicide is not known and the police are investigating the matter. According to Banganga Police, the man was identified as Hemraj (51) resident of Kumharkhedi. The family told the police that Hemraj was employed at a wire factory located on Sanwer Road. Hemraj had returned home late on Tuesday night after work and was drunk. However, when they woke up in the morning they found him hanging from the ceiling. The police are now recording statements of family members and friends.
