The family had gone to village for last rituals of son
Indore : Double misfortune struck a Malharganj family, who first lost their son in a mishap and when the family members were busy in conducting last rituals of the deceased at their ancestral village, their house was burgled.
According to Malharganj police, the incident took place in a rented accommodation of Mohammad Arif Khan in Laxmipuri Colony on Friday.
Arif in his complaint stated that his son Shoeb drowned in Khedighat a few days ago and he along with his family members had gone to their ancestral home in Ujjain for his burial.
On Thursday, his landlord Aslam Khan informed him that the lock of his house was broken and household were in disarray after which Arif returned and found Rs 18000 and gold ornaments were missing from his cupboard.
The police have registered a case and started an investigation into the matter. In another instance, thieves managed to take away Rs 10000 cash, gold ornaments and other valuables from the house of a teacher, Kshama Vyas, in Talawali Chanda. She had gone somewhere at the time of incident and she returned on Friday, she discovered the incident.
