Indore : Thieves broke into several places, including a temple, and decamped with booty worth lakhs. The police have registered cases in all instances and are investigating.
According to the police, the first theft occurred in Scheme No 54 where thieves broke into the house of Sumit Sharma and stole three pairs of earrings, a chain, two rings, three necklaces, and coins along with cash. The value of stolen items is pegged at over Rs 1 lakh. Sharma operates an IT firm and had left for work as usual. His wife, a school teacher and son had gone to school. When Sharma returned home at around 4:00 pm he found the locks broken and household stuff strewn on the floor.
The second theft occurred in Pardeshipura where thieves broke into the flat of Ravi Rekhe located in Sunder Vihar apartment and decamped with gold and silver ornaments, pearls and cash amounting to Rs 2000.
In this instance too Rekhe was out on work at a private college, his wife, a school teacher was at school and when she returned home in the afternoon she found the house burgled.
The third theft occurred in Tukoganj area where thieves stole a courier bag from a courier service located in Trade Centre. In this instance, however, the CCTV captured the images of the thief and a search is on for him based on the CCTV footage.
The fourth theft occurred in Vidya Palace Colony where thieves broke into Sai temple and stole cash from the donation box along with utensils used for performing puja and puja material.
