Indore : A 16-year-old girl cleaning outside her home was wounded with an unguided bullet in the MIG area on Friday. It is not known who fired the bullet or where it came from. Police suspect that someone fired in the air from another colony and the bullet struck the girl, and they are investigating the matter.

 According to senior inspector Nirmal Shrivastava, this incident occurred in Amartekri area, when Vinita Amarwad was cleaning outside her house with a wiper. Suddenly, an unguided bullet approached and got stuck in her back. And when Amarwad felt a burning sensation, she touched her back and was aghast to see blood. She had also got the pistol bullet in her hand when she touched the wound. Amarwad ran and reported the above incident to her mother, Chandabai.

As soon as this incident spread in the colony, a panic-like situation was created in the area. This girl’s family members immediately rushed her to a nearby private hospital and she was reported to be out of danger. The victim’s family submitted the bullet in the hospital and the doctors later handed it over to the police, and they have registered the statement of the girl.

Preliminary  investigations suggest that somebody had fired the bullet from a nearby colony and it struck the girl. Police are also probing other angles in the case, and have registered a case under section 336 and 337 of the IPC under unidentified accused. In addition, the police  have also taken the bullet in their possession and are trying to find out whose gun fired it.
