- Banking network will increase as per the future requirement
- Banking sector lacks experienced people after bulk of retirements this year
Indore: “The Technology banking services in the city are at par with global standard except the Cheque Truncation System (CTS). All nationalized banks are providing modern day banking facilities. Off course, the core service sector of the economy has challenges in the form the lack of mature staff.’
“Now, we are not lagging behind in the form of banking services. We have all the services there may be a little bit of difference in delivery of those services. Frankly speaking, Zonal Manager of Bank of Maharashtra (BoM) VK Kshirsagar said in an exclusive interview with this correspondent. Kshirsagar proudly says ‘Indore is a prominent city of MP and so here all banks are offering services of global standards.
He said not only in Indore but also in whole of MP one can find good services. He reckons global services like-ATM, Credit cards, Internet, mobile banking services are available to every customer of nationalized banks.’ On question of delays in cheque encashment due to the CTS, which is also one of the tools of technology banking, ZM of BoM accepted that this is the area where we are trailing.
It’s a quite new technique and bank staff could be acclimatized with the innovative measure soon. He expressed hope that in coming days it could be overcome as the training to the staff is given. In this contest he made it clear that their bank’s clearing system is all right.
Sharing the concern and challenge of the banking industry, Kshirsagar said that two lakh employees of the all India will get retired this year and the new employees and the officers are not matured with the banking system. Keeping the fact in mind, different banks have modified their training programs. In view of the big-wig TCS and Infosys, Narsee Munjee and Symbiosis projects coming in city, does the city’s banks are ready to tackle such future expanded needs? ZM says ‘as soon as the requirements for the banks will increase, the banks will increase their network in the city.
He gave example of his own bank BoM and said that in the current financial year we are going to open two new branches in the city one at Airport road and another is at Khandwa Road. The BoM has 165 branches in MP-CG circle, out of which 41 are in Indore zone. It is the only bank of MP which has made 100 percent disbursement of loan amount of Rs 1 lakh each of Chief Minister Housing Scheme. The scheme is meant for the poor’s. Even the MP govt. has faliciteted bank for the outstanding performance.
An MCom and CAIIB, Kshirsagar said our zone’s average growth rate for the last three years stood at 16 percent. During the last fiscal year 2013-14 the zone’s growth rate was 17.50 percent in comparison to its previous year’s growth. Bank has an industry dedicated branch at Pithampur.
