Spl voter camp Over 30,000 applications received

Indore: In the special voter camp organized on Sunday in all polling booths of the district, over 30,000 applications were received for adding names to the voters list. About 4,000 applications were also received for removing names from the voters list while over 6,000 applications were received for correction in the existing list.

In view of the Lok Sabha elections, a special voter camp was organized for those citizens whose name was not registered in the voters list. According to Deputy District Election Officer Sharad Shrotriya, 1506 applications were received in Depalpur, 4517 in Indore- I, 3514 in Indore- II, 2711 in Indore- III, 5617 in Indore- IV, 7015 in Indore- V, 2300 in Dr Ambedkar Nagar Mhow, 2618 in Rau, and 1003 in Sanver.

Similarly, applications were also received for removing names and correction of details. The Election Commission has directed the officials for addressing the applications by March 20. After physical verification and local inquiry, the booth level officers would submit the date to the ERO. It is noteworthy that on March 9, booth level officers were present at the centers with Form no 6. District Collector Aakash Tripathi directed the officials for keeping open all those offices, schools, colleges and institutes where the camps were organized.
