Indore : A long-pending demand of students of centralised campus placement on the UTD campus would come true soon. The Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya on Wednesday announced to set up Student Support Centre that would not only centralise the campus placements of the university teaching departments but also guide students on career opportunities.
Acting vice chancellor Prof Ashutosh Mishra and Registrar RD Musalgaonkar on Wednesday laid foundation stone and performed Bhoomi pujan for construction of the centre.
The centre would be setup at a layout of Rs 40 lakh. “The amount has been granted by the University Grants Commission on our proposal for the centre,” Mishra said.
Mishra said that the centre was an ambitious project of the DAVV which would be expanded in years to come.
“Campus placements will decide ratings of institutions in future at least in the market. So our efforts will be to improve placements and the student support centre is a step in that direction,” he added.
The centre would be set up behind School of Instrumentation. All the placement officials in different departments would be deputed at this centre which will be coordinated by a senior professor.
