Indore : A 24-year-old software engineer committed suicide by hanging herself at her rented accommodation under Tukoganj police station area, on Monday.

The incident was discovered by her roommate and colleague. The reason for taking extreme step was not known. According to Tukoganj police, Deepa Radadiya (24), a resident of Ahimsa Tower, hanged herself from the ceiling in her room. She was a software engineer in BatchMaster Software Pvt Ltd and hailed from Mumbai. Her father is a builder there.

“The incident was discovered by her roommate Snehal when she went back to her flat. She tried to contact Deepa after coming to office but didn’t get any response after which she went to her flat and opened the door with the help of neighbours and colleagues. The deceased was found hanging in her room after which Snehal informed the office staff and the police,” senior manager of BatchMaster Software Shailendra Singh said.

He further said that Deepa never told anyone about any problem or any depression. She had joined in March this year and was jolly in nature and didn’t have any dispute with anyone.

In-charge TI Dilip Singh Choudhary said that they didn’t find any suicide note from the spot.

“We have informed her parents and they have left for the city. We are working on the aspects of work pressure any family dispute or love affair and others. Statements of her parents will also lead the investigation,” he said.

The police registered a case and sent the body for post-mortem. It will be handed over to the parents on their arrival.
