Sikhs burn Bapu’s effigies

Indore: Asaram Bapu’s latest tirades have caused a stir among members of the Sikh community. The Godman, famous for comparing himself with other greats, likened himself to Guru Nanak, the spiritual leader of the Sikhs Following this, people from the Sikh community burnt effigies of Bapu and also smeared black paint on his hoardings, erected on Asaram Bapu chauraha.

In the past I have likened myself with Lord Ram, too. Just like him, I faced and fought problems.” Bapu stressed that “ every discourse must use the example of God, because that’s how the message will get across to the devotees. That’s how they get inspired.” Bapu clarified Lord Ram, Lord Krishna and Guru Nanak are all reflections of the one God we all worship and believe in.
