Indore : Nearly three years after RTI activist Shehla Masood was murdered, the special CBI court here on Thursday directed the CBI to hand over belongings of the deceased, expect a gold chain, seized for the investigation, to the family members.

The order comes on a private petition filed by Sultan Masood, father of Shehla, seeking belongings of her deceased daughter.

RTI activist Shehla Masood was killed in front of her house in a car on August 16, 2011 in Koh- e- Fiza area in Bhopal.

The CBI had seized her car, laptop and other items at the time of investigation.

Making Zahida Pervez, Saba Farooqui, Shaqib Ali, Irfan and Tabish accused in the case, the CBI had filed a chargesheet in the special CBI court in Indore.

The court on Thursday observed that since the investigation is over in the case, the CBI should return the belongings to the deceased to her family members.

Earlier in the morning, accused- turned- government- witness Irfan was produced in the court to record his statement. But citing poor health, he sought time more time for court and went back.

This was third time when Irfan returned from court without recording his statement as government witness. Next hearing in the case has been set for October 30.
