Nagda: The compromise that is to be done between the Grasim Industries and the Labourer Association doesn’t seem to happen soon. As per the progress observed, it is surely difficult to say that this year, the settlement will take place. The discussion that occurred on Wednesday also turned out to be pointless and none agreed to the conditions.
Another reason of the delayed settlement is the nearby half-yearly civic-body elections. The salary-increment agreement that has to take place between Grasim Industries and Labourer Association is an important issue and the political pressure on the labourers may affect the decision and the conditions will be favorable for the management.
The management is in very good terms with the effective and prominent politicians at national and state level. This is the reason why the management wants to implement its traditional working. This may also lead to the decision being taken after the elections. However, if the settlement is done after the elections, there is a probability that the settlement turns out to be against the labourers.
