Indore : After the killing of a jail inmate in MY Hospital, a demand was made for a separate ward for inmates in the hospital.

At present, the hospital doesn’t have different ward for inmates but the similar facility is available in the hospitals of other cities.

The Indore jail administration dashed off a letter to the officials for the same earlier. Superintendent of Central Jail Gopal Tamrakar said the facility of having a different ward of 10 beds for the inmates is available in the civil hospitals of Jabalpur, Gwalior and Bhopal. “We sent a letter earlier to the higher authorities earlier and now will again request them for the same,” he said.

Six police guards were deployed in the ward

As per information, total three inmates were admitted in the same ward and six police cops were deployed there.

According to sources, Head Constable Ramveer, Constables Dheeraj and Rajendra, who were having SLR also, Mujib Khan, Yashpal and Irfan Khan were present in the night.

Eyewitnesses said that no cop was present at the time of incident as they were sleeping outside in the hospital. However, the jail administration suspended only Yashpal, who was responsible for security of deceased Ramdayal, after the incident.

Third incident in the history of MYH

According to experts, it is the third incident of murder in the history of MY Hospital. The first incident had taken place in 1989, when a listed criminal of Banganga police station Manohar Guru was shot dead by criminals in ward no. 15 of the third floor. Manohar Guru was accused in three murder cases and inmate of Indore jail. He was reportedly a close aide of a BJP leader. The second incident had taken place in January 1991, in which about 6 accused stabbed to death a notorious criminal of Chhatripura police station Praveen Gaikwad on the fifth floor.
