Indore : The 500 kg mawa, which was seized by the team of District Administration from a bus of Intercity Travels plying from Gwalior to Indore about a few days ago, was reported as substandard after tests. The final report of the mawa was received by the officials of Food and Drug Administration Department on Tuesday.
According to Senior Food Safety Officer Manish Swami, they have received the report of the mawa and it was found substandard.
“Fat quantity in the seized mawa was very low and the manufacturer had mixed palm oil in it to make it shine,” Swami said.
He further said that they have consulted to the reporting officer CMHO Dr Ashok Dagaria and have undertaken to destroy the Mawa within two days.
“CMHO directed us to keep the mawa for a couple of days waiting for the owner to claim it. If no one comes to claim the mawa then we will destroy it within two days,” he added.
It is to be noted that a team of administration led by SLR Anil Banwaria seized the mawa from the bus after the directions of the collector.
The team left the bus driver and owner after seizing the mawa and reported it unclaimed.
The officials had allegedly informed the other officials after two hours of seizing the mawa.
